The Wicked Mystery Party

Join us on Day 1 of the Unconference for a masquerade party at our "remote" inn. Once you arrive, you discover that all is not as expected. What will you uncover? Who will you meet along the way? Can you solve the mystery before the night ends?

While we can't say much...it is a mystery after all...we can tell you that something fishy is going on at Black Swan Lake and we need you to put on your thinking cap to help us solve the mystery!

Introduction to Wicked Problems

Work with fellow education changemakers to address 9 Wicked Problems, voted on by the ShapingEDU community last month, impacting learning today and in the future by developing actionable outputs, resources and products. By doing this, we are seeking out ways to become antifragile in living and learning — to move beyond resilience to thriving through disruption.

Mysterious Illusions with Tim Gabrielson

Speaker and entertainer Tim Gabrielson will join us to demonstrate how what we see isn’t always what is there. Don’t miss Tim’s engaging humor and highly skilled magic.

Student Panel: Decoding the Wicked Problems

We believe it is crucial to center student voice into our discussions and changemaking efforts. In light of this value, a student panel will offer an open forum to elevate their experiences and voices around the Unconference’s 9 Wicked Problems.

Join us to hear from current ASU students as they share their perspectives on which problems they are passionate about and what educators, technologists and innovators can do to improve action around these challenges. With the help of our students, we can design solutions that address key issues in education, now and in the future.

Panelists:

  • Lance Israel Lim, B.S. Community Health, B.S. Health Entrepreneurship and Innovation,Certificate in Cross Sector Leadership
  • John Janezic, B.A. in Interdisciplinary Studies: Sustainability and Applied Biology, with a Minor in Spanish and a certificate in Cross-Sector Leadership in 2021, Masters in Global Management Candidate at Thunderbird School for Global Management
