Take the pledge to become a Digital Inclusion Champion

At the Arizona Digital Inclusion Celebration Summit, participants had the opportunity to hear about the efforts being made in Arizona to close the digital divide. To close the Summit, attendees were invited to take a pledge and become a Digital Inclusion Champion, affirming their commitment to take concrete action to further digital inclusion efforts in their communities.

“We have to start building trust, and we have to continue to go to communities and let them know that people who are doing this work in digital inclusion exist – taking the pledge is a good first step,” said Dr. Erin Carr-Jordan, Managing Director of the Digital Equity Institute and co-host of the Summit. “We need to engage with, gain trust and work collaboratively with the community. That takes us locking arms, and it includes absolutely everyone.”

This opportunity is open to all who are ready to roll up their sleeves and get to work to make a difference in digital inclusion. Aspects of digital equity or inclusion that changemakers can focus their efforts on include:

• Cybersecurity
• Device provisions
• Digital literacy
• Education
• Internet service provider
• Policy
• Telehealth
• Workforce development
