Submit your ideas: Identifying broadband opportunities in the American Jobs Plan

At yesterday's Connecting for Work and Learning project team call, we kicked off a new activity to further universal broadband by analyzing the American Jobs Plan. Over the next few weeks, ShapingEDU community members will identify and prioritize intersections between universal broadband & other economic goals listed in the American Jobs Plan. The resulting list of top intersections and opportunities will be an actionable resource for education, government, business and policy changemakers.

Universal broadband access now looks to be within reach in the very near future, by virtue of its inclusion in the American Jobs Plan. But that’s just the beginning: each and every one of the other items covered in the American Jobs Plan (e.g. transportation infrastructure, home care jobs, manufacturing) is connected in multiple ways to broadband access. What forms could - or should - these connections take? Which ones are of higher priority, and what steps should be taken to move them forward?

ShapingEDU Storyteller in Residence Paul Signorelli regularly uses Google Docs to conduct virtual text-based interviews for the ShapingEDU blog and many other projects. Using Google Docs as an interview platform allows you and your interviewee to have a text-based conversation simultaneously (and/or asynchronously).
